“His new CD is the final evidence: David Theodor Schmidt, born in Erlangen in 1982, is a top-class pianist and has a great future ahead! Unbelievably sophisticated and expressive, very honestly played: the first two keyboard Partitas by Bach at the beginning. Then three of Bach’s Preludes and Fugues for Organ (BWV 546, 547, 543) arranged by Liszt. Have these admirably honest masterworks which are without any virtuosic glitter ever been performed so convincingly?”
